
ABOUT
Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Samuel Calvo Rosenstone is a pianist, keyboardist, and collaborator whose versatility has enabled him to perform on stages in classical, jazz, funk, and pop settings in the Twin Cities and beyond. Inspired by his roots on both sides of the Atlantic, he attended the University of Minnesota receiving a B.M. as a Schlafle Family Scholar studying piano performance under Alexander Braginsky. While at the University of Minnesota, Rosenstone was a finalist in The Schubert Club Student Scholarship Competition in 2014, and received the Jeanne Arland Peterson Scholarship for excellence in Jazz Studies in 2015.
Rosenstone has shared the stage with a wide variety of artists and bands as a sideman and collaborator including Samia, Purple Funk Metropolis, Lupin (Jake Luppen), HALEY (fka Haley Bonar), Sarah Reich, FPA, George Hadfield, PaviElle French, Reed Grimm, Rhythm Street Movement, Slo Dance Company, TABAH, Lady Lark, Nooky Jones, New Sound Underground, Bluewater Kings and more. Studio collaborations include work with Samia, Purple Funk Metropolis, Raffaella, TABAH, Faith Boblett, Radio Church, and The Sweatband (Sweating 2thafunk, named top 20 funk albums of 2019 by Funkatopia).
